Current Developments: What’s New in Carlsbad?
What do people look for when moving to a new city? Most people know the usual topics of interest including schools, commutes, companies in the area, property values and the like. But, what about the long-term growth of a city? Don’t you want to know if the city you’re moving to is on an upward trajectory?
Seeing that there are plans in the pipeline for new developments and amenities can make a move feel even better. And with how stressful buying a home and packing your things can be, good news is always welcome. In North San Diego County, there’s always something going on. One great thing about living up here is that the natural beauty of the area is always a big selling point. People who have lived here for any length of time can tell you that the beaches and weather count for a lot. But, you can only kick back and relax so much. You want things to do beyond lounging.
If you’re looking to buy a home in Carlsbad, you’re in luck because there are some really interesting developments happening around town. Many of these new developments that we’ve come across and compiled for you are from this past month alone. There’s something for nearly everyone depending on what you’re looking to do. Want to enjoy some fine food and local spirits? Take in some art? Be active in a creative way? You’ll be very pleased by what’s coming to Carlsbad over the coming months.
Here are some exciting new developments coming along all around Carlsbad. Keep an eye out, because there is certainly more to come as the city continues to grow and change as it welcomes more families to the area.
Arts Initiative
Carlsbad is already known for its culture, especially when it comes to the arts and creativity, and that reputation is about to be bolstered even more with the arts and culture initiative that has recently been adopted. The exciting thing is, it’s a plan for the next decade. Carlsbad already has plenty of murals, flower fields, and summer concerts. The community at large has been very involved in helping come up with this plan. People from all different disciplines and walks of life have attended community meetings in order to help shape the city’s plans. While the plan will be solidified in winter of 2018, already we’re seeing a push for more multi-tiered events that combine arts, music, and food in one location.
New Distillery
Up here in North San Diego County, we love our locally sourced food and drinks. There is currently a plan for a new distillery to make its way to Carlsbad that will boast locally sourced meals in a “farm to table” arrangement. You’ll know where the food comes from and how it got there. Additionally, you can indulge in spirits that are distilled right there on premise. Pacific Coast Spirits currently plans on opening this farm to table experience in Carlsbad relatively soon. It’s sure to attract foodies and spirits connoisseurs from all over the Carlsbad area. Keep an eye out for when it opens.
Dog Parks
The community is always trying to come up with ways to beautify the city and add more amenities that residents are after. Recently, there was a survey circulating asking residents what they would like to see most come to the city. One of the most popular responses was more dog parks. Plans are now in motion to add more to the city, including one that is slated to soon begin construction in Poinsettia Park. More spaces for dogs means happy dogs and happy owners.
Adrenaline Addicts Rejoice
Finally, there’s some great news if you like to stay in shape in some creative ways. House of Air, a behemoth of an activity facility, is coming to Carlsbad this month. Not only will there be giant trampolines in this 32,000 square foot facility, but there will be other sports bordering on the extreme for adrenaline addicts of all interests. While the trampolines are the big selling point, there will also be rock climbing, a drop zone, gladiator jousting, dodgeball, and trampoline powered basketball. If you like staying active, but you want to add something to your hiking and biking regimen, this is the place for you.
Conclusion
As if it weren’t already the case, these new developments just further prove that Carlsbad really does have something for everyone. There is a reason that Carlsbad is known as The Village by the Sea. It’s a place that feels like home while also having all the destinations that tourists love visiting year in and year out. Maybe you’ve even been one of those tourists yourself.
