The name of Fire Mountain came from the Luiseno tribe who first populated the area in which you could see their fires from the top of the hill from miles away. In the 1900s it started as an agricultural center with citrus groves and avocado orchards.

The city of Oceanside hosts a variety of events throughout the year for residents. The Farmers Markets in Oceanside occurs every Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm on Pier View Way and Pacific Coast Highway. They also host the Sunset Market on Thursday evening from 5 pm to 9 pm. Come check out local vendors and food booths as well as face painters, live music and other kid crafts. The Art Walk Oceanside happens the first Friday of each month. It has a new location each time and boasts creative arts, music, poetry, food activities, and it is free for all ages.
For shopping there is a Walmart Super Center just down the street from Fire Mountain real estate. The Camino Town and Country Shopping Center also boast a wide shopping selection. You’ll find places such as Ulta, Jamba Juice, Game Stop, Target, Boot Barn, Barnes & Noble, 24 hour Fitness, Best Buy, Stater Bros, El Torito, Jo-Ann Fabrics and Michael’s among others. The Westfield Carlsbad Mall is just over the 78 Highway for more retail shopping.
