The city of Vista is located just seven miles inland from the Pacific Ocean in northern San Diego County nice mild Mediterranean climate. Residents enjoy a wide range of year-round outdoor activities including riding horses, to baseball and soccer at the Vista Spots Center to golf at the Vista Valley golf course and Shadow Ridge golf course. Vista downtown area is being revitalized with new restaurants and shopping. The Vista Village shopping center has everything from The Wave Waterpark, to movie theaters and restaurants to Lowes and grocery shopping. Just across the street from the Vista Village shopping center you will find Old Town Vista. You can visit a chiropractor, get keys made or make a stop for a new experience and organic food at the Yellow Deli. Vista is also on the map for the micro brew craze making San Diego the #1 location in the country for craft beer. Check out Vista Brewers Guild for a dozen or so locations that you can stop into a brewery and go beer tasting.
Vista real estate is in three zip codes with distinct characteristics. Vista 92081 is on the south side of the 78 freeway bordering Carlsbad to the west and San Marcos to the east. Shadowridge is the the biggest community in this zip with a gold course running through the middle of it. There are many different developments with different styles of living throughout this community. Shadowridge condos can be found at very affordable prices and Shadowridge home prices start below the city average for single family homes in San Diego and are generally very affordable, even with golf course views! This is modest living in a great location. Vista homes on this side of the 78 feed to Rancho Buena Vitsta High School. Go Long Horns!
Many affordable Vista homes can be found in 92083. This is the furthest west area of Vista with a suburban feel. The homes and condos in this area are a sprinkling of the old and the new. You can find large brand new homes or small older homes. Many of the older homes have been revitalized during the downturn in the housing market in 2007.
In the zip code of 92084 Vista homes can be more rural. This is the area where you drive down long windy tree lined streets to get home. Homes are likely to have bigger lots, sometimes with groves of fruit trees or horses. This is an area where you are likely to get a view, often times in many direction. Homes in Vista with ocean views and breezes are surprisingly common in this area. Vista luxury real estate is most common in this area too. Because there are more custom homes and less large developments areas are often named after the long residential streets that get you home. You will live in Gopher Canyon, or Buena Creek, Vale Terrace or the Warmlands area. Vista Valley Country Club is a gated community with the private residences off Gopher Canyon. This is one of the few private courses in San Diego.
